Ray Dalio, founder of Bridgewater Associates, received an award from the China General Chamber of Commerce-USA in February 2022. Ray Dalio, chief investment officer at Bridgewater Associates, took to LinkedIn on Tuesday to defend his continued investments in China — a market he views as crucial to "understand the world" and for "diversification." In his follow-up, Dalio defended his decision not to abandon the Chinese market "when things get tough," claiming he is neither "a fair-weather friend" nor "a fair-weather investor." "[T]here is no such thing as a bad market; there is only bad decision making. I find the markets in China good for my type of decision making," he added.

She says one of her favorite questions to ask in job interviews is all about what the team looks like. And maybe most importantly, how is the hiring manager talking about the vacancy? A desperate hiring manager might not be as invested in your long-term career growth, at least not at first. A hiring manager should be able to discuss what that looks like, whether there's access to mentoring opportunities, internal courses, tuition reimbursement or other ways to nurture talent. Lastly, Howell says she keeps a pulse on her rapport with the hiring manager.

It's never been easier to see how much a job will pay before you go into an interview. But once you have that information, how can you actually leverage pay ranges to negotiate a job offer? It's as simple as asking one straightforward question in a job interview, says Chanelle Howell, 31, a New York City-based recruiter who's interviewed hundreds while working for Goldman Sachs, Bridgewater Associates and through her own consulting company. She recently gave this example: Say you're interviewing for a position that states the salary range is $100,000 to $150,000. The key is to repeat these qualities throughout your interview, Howell says, to help build your case for why you're a star candidate.

REUTERS/Shannon Stapleton/File Photo Acquire Licensing RightsNEW YORK, Nov 17 (Reuters) - Rising U.S. government debt and fiscal deficits that have helped lift government bond yields this year will likely become secondary factors for investors, as their focus shifts to economic fundamentals, Citi analysts said. "Our baseline is that over time investors accept these fiscal risks as a fact of life and that ultimately it is not supply and demand that determine Treasury yields but it's more about the fundamentals of the economy," he said. Moody's, which last week lowered its outlook on U.S. credit, expects the government to continue to run wide fiscal deficits due to increased spending and higher debt interest payments. Some Fed officials have also said rising bond yields, which make access to credit more expensive, could be a substitute for increasing interest rates further. "There is going to be an extraction of higher yields from these investors," cautioned Mathai.

Data through January indicates that foreign holdings of U.S. government debt total $7.4 trillion, down $253 billion, or 3.3% over the past year.
